Wispa Gold

The Wispa Gold! Nice, and back for good!

The Wispa Gold was originally launched in 1995, but discontinued.

Then it was re-launched in 2009, but discontinued in 2010.

But now it is BACK! Again!

Hoorah!!!!

I kept my Wispa Gold in the fridge for a few days before temptation kicked in. I finally buckled and nommed it. My word, it is a fabulous bar of chocolate. It is a silky, caramelly delight. The caramel isn’t a coffee-type of caramel, but a much lighter one. The chocolate is the usual great Cadburys Milk Chocolate, whipped into the usual Wispa goodness.

It is the sort of bar that you wished the made a King Sized version of. They could get rid of a rubbish bar, like Bounty King Sized, and make a Wispa Gold bar instead. It’d sell far better.

Unfortunately, the writing on the right of the bar seems to say “Team GB Pumped.” Not sure if Team GB breaking wind is as newsworthy as Cadburys believe it is, and also not sure that a chocolate bar wrapper is best place on which to announce it. However, this news doesn’t detract anything from the bar itself.

As a treat, it is great. Highly recommended. I just hope they don’t discontinue it again. Again.
