Crunch

Nestle Crunch. Dangerous when refrigerated.

I’ve had this one in stock for a week or so. By “in stock”, I don’t mean submerged in the juices of a roasted chicken carcass, I mean on the chocolate shelf in my fridge.

Because it had been “fridged” for so long, it had hardened. Not hardened to normal levels, but hardened to the level of steel, or a mighty glacier.

The Crunch is, as you may have deduced by it’s title, already quite crunchy. Chilling it seems to amplify this, providing your mouth with a proper workout.

It is, in effect, a sparsely filled rice krispie bar, with more chocolate than rice krispies.

Really nice, but if you’re keeping in a fridge, allow a few minutes of exposure to room temperature. Or use a saw.

  1. This inspired me to buy a nice big bar of Crunch which was on special offer at the local supermarket. There used to be Nestlé vending machines at Euston station that sold brick-thick bars of this that were so tough to get through that they would last your whole train journey – however long that might be. They was great.
