Mars Almond

Mars Almond?!? Isn’t that just a Snickers?

Well, no, it isn’t a Snickers. Snickers have peanuts in them, whereas this mighty fine creation has almonds, an entirely different type of nut!

I was a little skeptical when I saw it on the shelf of my local “cheap shop”, as the cheap shop is well known for selling things that are either out of date or not very good. If normal shops wouldn’t stock them, they usually end up at the cheap shop.

It cost me, in effect, 33p as I bought it three bars of chocolate for a pound. Plus, it was still in date by about a month! Using a process of elimination, as it was still before its best before date, I guessed it must be one of those “not very good” bars of chocolate that normal shops don’t sell.

I kept it in my desk at work for a while, and it took me a couple of weeks to finally decide to take the plunge and try it.

But my word it was good!

The list of ingredients, as with most edible things from the “cheap shop”, are in every conceivable language, with English featuring as the fourth one down. I didn’t recognise which language the first list of ingredients was in. Knowing the cheap shop, it was probably Vulcan.

Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed the Mars Almond. It did contain quite big almonds too and, as someone who didn’t realise they liked nuts in chocolate until comparatively recently when starting this blog, I proper enjoyed them!

Why isn’t this on sale in proper shops? Get you act together, Mars International!

In fact, no, ignore that. If it goes on sale in proper shops, my local “cheap shop” will probably stop selling them and they’ll increase in price to 60p each. No, I’d much prefer they weren’t on sale in proper shops so I can get three for a quid.
